IADR IRG Young Investigator Prize for Student Research

Purpose
In order to promote excellence in implant-related research and to recognize outstanding research contributions by promising young investigators, the Implantology Research Group of the IADR has instituted an award for the best implantology-related student research presented during the IADR General Session.

Eligibility
The abstract must be presented within the IRG session of the IADR General Session, and the research reported must not have been published or submitted for publication prior to the date of application. Materials presented at other national or international meetings will not be accepted. Recipients of this award will be selected from submitted abstracts, and requested to submit full papers resulting from their research for publication in a scientific journal.

Procedure
You must submit an abstract to the Global Headquarters for the 2009 IADR General Session & Exhibition in Miami, Florida, by the October 10, 2008 deadline, adhering to the usual submission procedures. In the awards section of the on-line abstract submission process select "Implantology Research Group Young Investigator Prize for Student Research."

Awards
All awards will be presented during the Awards Ceremony held at the annual business meeting of the IRG during the General Session. The following awards will be given:

1st Place - $1500
2nd Place: $500
3rd Place: $250

Selection
Members of the Awards Subcommittee will select the award winners based on the scientific merit of the abstract, paper, and presentation at the meeting. All submissions and presentations will be scored using a set of criteria which includes: originality; research methodology, scientific merit, and research relevance.
